 ed to help her daughter navigate the challenges of middle school.\n\nIn th
 ese three stirring novellas which make up The Hebrew Teacher\, celebrated 
 Israeli author\, Maya Arad probes the demise of idealism and the generatio
 n gap her heroines must confront.\n\nMaya Arad is the author of eleven boo
 ks of Hebrew fiction as well as studies in literary criticism and linguist
 ics. Born in Israel in 1971\, she received a PhD in linguistics from Unive
 rsity College\, London and for the past twenty years has lived in Californ
 ia where she is currently writer in residence at Stanford University’s T
