Monday Morning Message – January 3, 2011

Just over a month ago, The National Museum of American Jewish History opened its new building in the heart of historic Philadelphia- just a few steps from independence Hall and the Liberty Bell. Founded in 1976, the mission of this National Museum of American Jewish history is to:

…present educational programs and experiences that preserve, explore and celebrate the history of Jews in America. Our purpose is to connect Jews more closely to their heritage and to inspire in people of all backgrounds a greater appreciation for the diversity of the American Jewish experience and the freedoms to which Americans aspire.

While I have not yet had the opportunity to visit the museum, it sounds like an amazing experience. It proudly displays the unique nature and unparalleled freedoms of Jewish life in America and is designed for all ages.  The museum’s focus on education has something for everyone regardless of religious background.

Sounds like a great field trip for Congregation Torat El at some point in the future!  In the meantime, check out their website and enjoy!   http://www.nmajh.org/
