Meet the Author

Now in its seventh year, Congregation Torat El’s popular “Meet the Author” series engages congregants and members of the community in a dialogue with authors of fiction and non-fiction books relevant to Judaism, Jewish history, and Jewish cultural topics.

Billed as a “book club with a twist,” each event features an author and his or her most recent title, which attendees are encouraged to read prior to the program. The authors talk not only about the writing of their books, but also about the research that has gone into their work, and how the perspective of their books may fit into the larger geopolitical context of Jews in the world today.

“Meet the Author” programs are held both in-person and via zoom, depending on each individual program.

This ongoing 2023-2024 series is made possible through a generous grant from the B’nai Sholom/Beth El Foundation.
