Coronavirus Update – March 15, 2020

Last updated March 15, 2020
At Congregation Torat El we are constantly monitoring the changing situation with the coronavirus and are taking new steps, as a precautionary measure, with regard to activities here at the synagogue.

The Religious School and Early Learning Center are closed through March 27.

B’nai Mitzvah lessons and Torah Reading preparation with Ben Laskowitz will be held by phone or virtually.

Meetings with Rabbi Schonbrun will take place by phone or virtually.

All Adult Education programs, Temple Board and Committee Meetings (including Sisterhood, Men’s Club and Hazak) are cancelled through March 27.

The synagogue office will remain open (perhaps on modified hours) and we ask you to only call or email to conduct business, no in-person visits at this time.

A decision regarding upcoming Shabbat services will be made by midweek. In the meantime, we will continue to hold both morning and evening minyan on Monday and Tuesday. We are currently testing which virtual platform will work best for allowing us to bring you daily minyan and Shabbat Services during this difficult period. We will update everyone following Tuesday evening’s Executive Board meeting.

Thank you for your patience as we continue to navigate this challenging situation one day at a time and determine how to best continue to safely serve our synagogue community.
