While many people are familiar with the first five books of Moses, when it comes to the Prophets, many of us are left to wonder whether we learned very much beyond the Haftorah that we memorized for our bar or bat mitzvah! But the Book of Prophets, in particular the Nevi’im Rishonim, the Early Prophets are filled with action, adventure and political intrigue. Including the books of Joshua, Judges, Samuel (I and II) and Kings (I and II), these books are a central part of our ancient historical narrative that often get left out of our early Jewish education (unless you grew up in Israel!). Come and join Rabbi Schonbrun this year as we begin our exploration of these important texts and the lessons they might come to teach us today.
Wednesdays beginning October 22. Please register below.
