Musar is a Jewish spiritual discipline that helps to nurture depth of soul and spirit. Strengthening character, and engaging in the practice of mindful living through the study and practice of Musar allows us to bring balance, healing, inner-peace, and a deeper appreciation for life’s struggles and blessings into our lives. But just what are these virtues and how do these 17th century concepts such as (gratitude, self-restraint, forgiveness, kindness, social compassion) apply in our lives today? For that, we turn to a new book published by Dr. Geoffrey Claussen, entitled Modern Musar, Contested Virtues In Jewish Thought, bringing together voices from multiple denominations and perspectives to interpret the role of Musar for our lives today. Come and join us on   Zoom as we explore our own moral ideals through this ancient lens.
